All local branches of UCU are run by an executive committee, voted for by the members of that branch.  The committee consists of academic and academic related staff who volunteer to look after the interests of branch members.  They meet twice a month and attend meetings with university management.

Exec members undertake specific campaigns and roles, and act as caseworkers for members who are experiencing difficulty at work.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us with the many and varied aspects on local union work.  Facilities time (time off from your regular work) is available to anyone who wishes to undertake union work for Sussex UCU.  Please email ucusussex@sussex.ac.uk for more information.

The Sussex UCU Branch is governed by both local and national rules.

The national UCU rules are available here: https://www.ucu.org.uk/ucurules

  • Teaching Fellows

  • Language Tutors

  • Doctoral Tutors

If you would like to join the Exec, and want to find out more about what we do, please contact Chris Chatwin.
